The output value of the packaging industry ranks 19th among the 38 major industries of the national economy. Every year, it undertakes more than 100 billion yuan of industrial and agricultural products and more than 40 billion US dollars of export commodity packaging. The output of various packaging products has increased significantly.
　　1. Paper packaging products
　　Late 60s. From the mid-70s to 1987, more than 120 production lines were made and introduced, including 98 corrugated cardboard box production lines, 22 color printing cartons (including fine corrugated boxes), and 11 pulp molding. So far, there are more than 250 corrugated cardboard box production lines, with an annual production capacity of 3 billion square meters. There are 26 color printing carton production lines, with an annual production capacity of 800 million square meters; There are 12 pulp molding production lines, with an annual production capacity of 1. 200 million. Paper packaging products have reached 3.24 million tons, accounting for the fourth place in the world.
　　2. Plastic packaging products
　　At the end of the 50s and the beginning of the 60s, the production of cellulose cellophane, plastic film and plastic bag making technology began in China. At the end of the 70s, the production of three-layer composite films and a variety of plastic containers began. In the mid-80s, it can produce multi-layer, high barrier performance of composite, copolymer and co-extrusion film and injection, drawing, blowing vacuum containers and other modern plastic packaging materials and products. Now it has developed a high barrier polyvinylidene (PVDC) emulsion and coating process, polyethylene monovinyl alcohol (EVOH), and 900,000 tons of plastic packaging products.
　　3. Metal packaging
　　Metal materials and containers have a history of more than 3,500 years in China. In the past 100 years, it has lagged behind the advanced countries of the world. In the 80s, China began to develop advanced metal packaging materials such as two-piece female aluminum alloy and aluminized and metal foil. In Guangdong, Shanghai, Chongqing, etc., there are 16 two-piece can production lines and more than 50 sets of metal barrel female production equipment. Now the metal packaging products reached 850,000 tons.
